Access to care is the top mental health need. We strive to have every child and youth needing non-urgent outpatient care to receive it within four weeks. We are working hard to achieve this goal by implementing an innovative program known as CAPA – the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA). CAPA decreases wait times and improves the mental health care CHEO delivers using methods taken from best business practices to streamline service delivery, as well as empower patients and families to be the stewards of their own mental health. Donor support for this program will help CHEO reach its goal of being able to see patients for their first and second appointments within weeks, not months, ensuring they receive the most effective and efficient care possible. Staff training and development of this new program is crucial for CHEO to deliver on our commitment to mental health care.
