New Infant and Young Child Mental Health Service
Some mental health problems begin as early as infancy or pre-school. CHEO’s experts know that if they can treat children early, instead of waiting until they are older and much sicker, that they can make a big difference in the long-term outcomes for patients. But there is a gap in mental health services. CHEO is planning to open an Infant and Young Child Mental Health Service that will treat severely mentally ill infants and toddlers in collaboration with community services and medical partners like family doctors and pediatricians.
